Radeberger (#27)

Spring has come. What does that mean for Girl Likes Beer? Well, time to do some cleaning up. Meaning I am trying to figure out a proper intro for the video reviews. Hope you like what I've come up with. Today I'm reviewing another German lager called Radeberger. If the brewer is not lying it is one of top 10 premium beers in Germany.

So let's look at the review, shall we...

Radeberger from Girl Likes Beer on Vimeo.

1. [PRE-REVIEW]

  • brewery: Radeberger Exportbierbrauerei, Germany
  • type of beer: pale lager
  • bought in: Germany by a friend
  • container grade (bottle): a bottle with a champagne like top;)

2. [REVIEW]

  • the looks: head (classic white, thin and disappearing), body (too light yellow with sparkles)
  • the taste: full bitterness, too gassy towards the end
  • the smell: heavy hoppy smell very strong on the nose

3. [RECOMMENDATION]

Whatever I guess...

I like Beer Ads (#4)

Today's ad is one of my top favourite beer ads and probably one of the best beer commercial ever. It's funny, surprising but foremost "It's big". It presents an Australian beer called Carlton Draught. Enjoy!

Beer soap

How much do you love beer? The why question has been addressed some time ago. If you love this beverage enough to bathe in it here's something for you. A beer soap.
The Beer Soap Company set up an account on Etsy and is selling bars of beer soap (5 bars for $20) made up of various beer brands. You can find there Double Chocolate Stout, Foster's and even Tyskie.

I like Beer Ads (#3)

Today I want to share a video ad that was brought to my attention by Will (@forkmantis). It's a commercial for Guinees beer. Enjoy!

Warsteiner (#26)

This time I'm reviewing "a wife" of Bud beer. Well, sort of. If you remember, Bud beer is called (or rather has a tagline) "king of beer". Warsteiner, the German brew in this review, is supposedly a "queen of beers". And since I had a bigger bottle, you can say that the queen is bigger than the king. Is it really? Find out for yourself.

And let's look at the review, shall we...

Warsteiner from Girl Likes Beer on Vimeo.

1. [PRE-REVIEW]

  • brewery: Warsteiner Braurei, Germany
  • type of beer: pale lager
  • bought in: in Germany by a friend
  • container grade (bottle): a queen of beer bottle;) but rather ordinary

2. [REVIEW]

  • the looks: head (classic white and thick), body (full golden as a pilsner should be, also sparkly)
  • the taste: bitter but not in the aftertaste
  • the smell: hoppy with a bitter promise

3. [RECOMMENDATION]

I'll have another one but maybe not right away...

I like Beer Ads (#2)

The second "I like Beer Ads" brings another American beer ad (a retro one, originally in Life magazine in 1937). It is Budweiser (reviewed by me twice, as Czech and as Amercian lager). Enjoy! It is very up-to-date, now that product patriotism is back on.
