A recent study (published in JECH) shows that regular drinking of small amounts (half a glass) of beer or wine prolongs our lives. Wine outranks beer in this field adding 5 more years while beer gives just 2,5 extra years to our lifetime. Apparently moderate drinking (the key word moderate) lowers risk of heart disease.
This is a first study to give superiority to one alcohol over the other.
