Nesher Malt (#42)

Today I review the last Israeli beer. It's called Nesher Malt and to find out the twist I've been talking about in the last two episodes you'll need to see the review for yourself.

  • brewery: Tempo Beer International, Israel
  • type of beer: black beer
  • bought in: supermarket in Jerusalem
  • container grade (bottle): classic small 

2. [REVIEW]

  • the looks: head (none whatsoever), body (like a Coca cola)
  • the taste: very sweet (sweetener kind) soda like
  • the smell: gassiness aroma

3. [RECOMMENDATION]

Maccabee (#41)

Today I review another Israeli beer. This one is called Maccabee and is also made by the Tempa Beer Industries. Also as Goldstar, I mean.

1. [PRE-REVIEW]

  • brewery: Tempo Beer Industries, Israel
  • type of beer: pale lager
  • bought in: supermarket in Jerusalem
  • container grade (can): not much to say here 

2. [REVIEW]

  • the looks: head (small and white), body (light golden with sparkles)
  • the taste: light beer taste, easy on hops and bitterness
  • the smell: light hoppy aroma covered with enormous airy layer

3. [RECOMMENDATION]

I forgot to rate the beer on the video... Probably not the first and not the last time.

I'll have another one but maybe not right away...

Goldstar (#40)

Happy Anniversary to me:) This is the 100th post on Girl Likes Beer. And also the 40th beer reviewed on the blog. I want to take this opportunity to thank you guys for your support. There are more beers coming. Stay tuned!

In the meantime I want to show an Israeli beer called Goldstar. I brought it with me from my trip to Jordan and Israel. And if I am not mistaken it is the most distanced (far away from home) beer I have ever reviewed.

You might also remember the funny ad campaign this beer had a few months ago.

  • container grade (bottle): classic small 

2. [REVIEW]

  • the looks: head (small and dark), body (whiskey like)
  • the taste: hoppy but just slightly bitter, very refreshing
  • the smell: light hoppy aroma

3. [RECOMMENDATION]

I'll have another one and another one...
